Our Approach
My Vision
Preserving my heritage and family memories is important to me. It's what drove my parents and grandparents to be great storytellers.
I hope to give my cousins, nieces and nephews, and all of our children and grandchildren an account and history of some of those who have gone before us and helped to shape who we are.
Our Story
I'm not sure how unique our family is as I have heard many wonderful stories about other families who were brave immigrants, hard working migrants and devoted parents in the same era.
I believe my family's faith in Almighty God has always been and continues to be something distinct and interesting, and that it sets us apart from many other families. I believe it's why we have been blessed beyond belief to this day.
Meet the Exploring the Attic Team
I'm Lynn. It was my dream for years to put this project together. I was able to convince my mother, Delois, and my sister, Jody, to help me with research, providing accuracy and proofreading.
Lynn Caprarelli
Research, Website & Publisher
Lynn is a freelance publisher who helps authors bring their books to life through the self-publishing process. Her first publishing project was her husband John Caprarelli's memoir, Uniform Decisions: My Life in the LAPD and the North Hollywood Shootout, published in December 2012. Lynn designed the book cover and produced the paperback, hardcover, and Kindle editions.
Since then, she has partnered with authors including Ron Shipp, Sally Betters, John Saltee, and Paul Eberle, providing publishing expertise from manuscript to finished book.
Prior to launching her freelance publishing business, Lynn spent more than 20 years as Director of Information Technology for a large California law firm, where she developed extensive experience in project management, technology, and design.
Today, Lynn offers professional publishing services, book design, and website development, helping authors transform their ideas into professionally published works.
Delois Hartman
Research & Accuracy
Delois spent 15 years driving a 76-passenger school bus to help provide a Christian school education for her children. After relocating to the mountains, she dedicated the next 22 years to serving as an aide at a local elementary school, where she also taught drawing for 10 years, sharing her love of art with countless students.
For nine years, Delois coordinated the school's Disaster Preparedness program. She was also certified in CPR and taught CPR classes, helping equip others with lifesaving skills.
An accomplished oil painter and avid crocheter, Delois has always enjoyed expressing her creativity. She is the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. As she approaches her 90th birthday, her life continues to be a testament to faith, service, creativity, and devotion to family.
Jody Bennett
Editor & Proofreader
Jody has edited several of the manuscripts published by her sister, Lynn, helping authors refine their work and prepare it for publication.
